Coach Garcia
Head Coach
Coach Eric Garcia serves as the Head Coach of LHS Varsity Rebel Baseball. A native of Marfa, Texas, Coach Garcia graduated from Marfa High School in 1997 and earned his degree from Angelo State University in 2003. He is entering his 14th year as a head coach and his 19th year in education.
During his tenure leading the Rebels, Coach Garcia has helped guide the program to multiple postseason accomplishments, including Bi-District Championships in 2022 and 2024, Area Championships in 2022 and 2024, and Regional Quarterfinal appearances in both seasons. His success earned him Midland Reporter-Telegram Coach of the Year honors in 2022 and 2024, as well as recognition as the 2025 THSCA Class 6A Region 4 Coach of the Year.

Off the field, Coach Garcia is married to his wife, Evangelee. Together they have three children, Aubri, Amri, and EJ, who also serves as a bat boy for the Rebels. Rounding out the Garcia family is their beloved Corgi, Dixie Doll.
EJ has been the bat boy for the Rebels for 6 years and currently attends Rusk Elementary. He loves all sports, but his favorite sport is basketball. He loves the Golden State Warriors, and his favorite player is Steph Curry. EJ plans on going to the NBA when he grows up! When not at school, he enjoys playing on his Xbox, reading books, and spending time with his Grandma Joan.

Coach Trevor McCall serves as an Assistant Coach for LHS Varsity Rebel Baseball and also coaches JV and Varsity football at LHS. A native of Muleshoe, Texas, Coach McCall graduated from Olton High School in 2014.
He continued his academic and athletic career at Eastern New Mexico University, where he was a four-year pitcher for the Greyhounds. Coach McCall graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Sport Management.
Following graduation, Coach McCall began his coaching career at Portales High School, working with the JV and Varsity football programs and serving as a strength coach. After moving to Midland, he joined the staff at Abell Junior High, where he coached football, basketball, and track.
After two years at Abell, Coach McCall was promoted to the LHS coaching staff in 2021 and has been part of the Rebel Baseball program ever since.
Coach Tyler Wilke serves as an Assistant Coach for LHS Varsity Rebel Baseball and also coaches freshman linebackers for Rebel Football. A Midland native and former Rebel himself, Coach Wilke graduated from Lee High School in 2009.
During his time at Lee, Coach Wilke was recognized with the 2008 Fighting Rebel Award and was a recipient of the 2008 Blake Nicholas Scholarship.
Following high school, he continued his education at the University of Texas Permian Basin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Coach Wilke returned to his alma mater as a member of the coaching staff, continuing his connection to the Rebel program as both a former student-athlete and coach.

Coach Ismael Perez serves as the LHS JV Maroon Baseball Coach, following three seasons leading the JV Silver Baseball team. In addition to baseball, Coach Perez is a member of the Rebel Football coaching staff and teaches Integrated Physics and Chemistry at LHS.
A native of Anthony, Texas, Coach Perez graduated from Anthony High School in 2004. As a multi-sport student-athlete, he earned First Team All-District honors in football, baseball, and basketball.
Following high school, he attended Sul Ross State University.
Outside of coaching and the classroom, Coach Perez enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and wildlife.

Coach Brandon Vasquez serves as the LHS JV Silver Baseball Coach and is also a member of the Rebel Football coaching staff. A native of El Paso, Texas, Coach Vasquez graduated from Bel Air High School in 2012.
Following high school, he moved to Odessa and attended the University of Texas Permian Basin, where he walked on to play football for the Falcons. He graduated from UTPB in 2019 and began his coaching career with Midland ISD at Alamo Junior High.
Coach Vasquez later joined the LHS coaching staff, continuing his career as a multi-sport coach in both the baseball and football programs.
